The 2024 Paralympics get underway tomorrow in Paris with the official opening ceremony. More than 4,400 athletes with various disabilities will participate in 22 sports. Including local athletes from Carlow and Kilkenny.
Aaron Shorten from St Laurence O’Toole Athletics club will compete in his Paralympic debut.
While Mary Fitzgerald from Kilkenny with Gowran AC will compete in the Shotput F40 having also competed in 2020.
Damien Vereker from Kilmacow, Kilkenny, is competing in tandem Cycling. HE Competed in 2016 and placed 8th then.
