Carlow and Kilkenny rent prices up

Figures released this week by the Private Residential Tenancies Board show rents in Carlow and Kilkenny increased in the last quarter of 2014.
The average rent for dwellings in Kilkenny is now 615 euro, up by just under 30 euro on the previous 3 months.
While in Carlow the situation is much the same as Kilkenny with the average rent rising by 31 euro, to 612 euro.
Speaking to KCLR News, David Duffy, economist with the ESRI, says it’s not unusual for rents in rural counties to be much lower than that of urban centres.
