Carlow firefighters tops in the country

A Carlow firefighter is being celebrated for picking up a special award.

A team of local firefighters competed in Sligo at the weekend and were among the prizewinners.

Carlow Fire Chief Alan O’Neill says they did very well, telling KCLR “our team won the best rapid extrication & finished second overall with our station officer John Comerford receiving a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to road traffic collission & extrication over his career in the fire service”.
