Calls continue for more to be done regarding the dangers of e-scooters.
Children’s Health Ireland report of a 50% rise in traumatic head injuries involving children on e-scooters and it seems the Taoiseach & Garda Commissioner have both indicated they’d support a move to ban the vehicles, though not everybody’s in agreement with that move.
Just weeks ago a man aged in his early twenties was injured while travelling on one in Graiguecullen, days before that teenager Janis Ghirghircic Ozols died following a crash he was involved in while on one on Carpenter’s Way, Carlow town – Fr Tom Little at his funeral called on more to be done to oversee their use and reiterated that plea on KCLR.
While Cllr Fintan Phelan told us the issue arose at the Carlow Local Community Safety Partnership.
