Gardaí in Carlow had a busy evening on the streets yesterday.
A substantial amount of drugs were seized in 3 separate incidents throughout the town.
Just under €5,000 worth of heroin was seized by uniformed officers on patrol in Carlow town yesterday afternoon.
A man acting suspiciously was apprehended by Gardaí after a foot chase.
He was arrested and detained and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Separately, a vehicle acting suspiciously was stopped by officers as part of operation interdiction – as a result, a quantity of herbal cannabis was seized, with a value of close to €200.
Meanwhile, a male was stopped and searched in the town by the Garda Drugs Unit and was found to be in possession of cannabis worth around €50.
Elsewhere, two people were arrested on suspicion of drink driving in Carlow town over the course of yesterday.
