Gardaí in Carlow say a number of people have made contact with them in relation to the assault of a woman on Sunday morning.
The woman in her 50’s wasn’t discovered until Sunday afternoon when a local man found her unconscious in the grounds of Pollerton Castle close to the entrance.
She is still being treated in hospital for her injuries and an investigation is continuing as Gardaí try to establish what happened to her.
They’ve issued a renewed appeal now to a couple who were walking in the Pollerton Road area to make themselves known.
Superintendent Gerry Redmond says they may have some information that would help with the investigation.
