Carlow girl Shauntelle Tynan makes emotional appeal on Facebook for help for treatment in US

“I don’t want to die”

That’s the plea from 18 year Carlow teenager Shauntelle Tynan who has made an emotional appeal on Facebook for help to get life saving treatment in America.

The local woman is battling a rare form of cancer called histiocytosis since 2015 and has been over and back to Texas many times for the treatment which is not available in Europe.

However this time she needs €500,000 to go to Texas for a minimum of twelve months from March 29th.

Shauntelle says because the treatment is outside Europe, she doesn’t qualify for the Treatment Abroad Scheme from the HSE.
