Carlow is the heartbreak capital of Ireland.
That’s according the 2015 divorce figures published in today’s Sunday Times.
As the song goes, ‘love hurts’ for the people of Carlow, as the second smallest county in Ireland took top place for divorces in 2015.
Carlow had 125 applicants per 100,0000 people for divorce in the last year, while Dublin took second place with 122 applicants per 100,000.
Roscommon, the only county to vote no in the Marriage Equality Referendum last year, recorded no divorce applicants in 2015.
According to the report in The Sunday Times, the most enduring marriages are in Monaghan and Donegal.
