A total of 81.8 millimetres fell in the month which was 136 per cent above the average fall.

Sherkin Island had the lowest at 39.2 millimetres but rainfall in general was lower across the country than normal.

The highest temperature recorded last month was 26.1 degrees in Roscommon while the lowest was -1.5 degrees at Dublin Airport.
