Carlow Housing officer trapped in his car by angry protesters

Carlow County Council’s Director of Housing says he’s fearful of what will happen at the council offices today after he says he was trapped in his car by a mob yesterday evening.

Séamus O’Connor says he was accosted outside his offices, prevented from getting out of his car and then prevented from getting into the offices until the Gardaí arrived.

It follows protests in recent days relating to a particular housing case.

He told KCLR he’s not just fearful for his own safety.
