An IT Carlow student has won the world’s largest Agri-science Competition.
Richard Lally, a doctoral research student at the local IT, has scooped the prestigous Alltech Young Scientist Graduate Award 2016.

The contest took place in Kentucky yesterday and Richard will now receive a $10,000 prize and a two-year fully-funded postdoctoral contract with global biotech company Alltech.
The winning project was based on the study of aspects of plant growth.
