Plans to develop a new Primary health care centre in Tullow have taken a backwards step.
That’s according to Carlow Fine Gael Deputy Pat Deering who raised the matter in the Dail again recently asking the Minister for an update on the status of the project.
It’s one of 35 Primary care centres that was promised by the Government 5 years ago but a report this week claims only one has been delivered so far.
Deputy Deering got a response from the HSE to his parliamentary question and told KCLR news he is very disappointed and frustrated with the lack of progress.
He says the reply mentions discussions about procuring a site adjacent to the existing health centre on the Shillelagh Road but told KCLR that as far as he was concerned those discussions were supposed to have happened 3 years ago.
