Carlow Tourism has given its backing to the plans to develop the Barrow towpath.
Industry members of the Board have praised plans for the Waterways Ireland project describing it as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity to develop a high quality multi-activity leisure trail.’
It says the project has the ability to give the River Barrow and Barrow Way route, the profile and status it has long deserved but never fully received.
