Carlow TY students briefed on Road Safety

Hundreds of Transition year students met with Gardai and Road Safety officers in Carlow today for a special road show.

A presentation called ‘It wont happen to me’ was delivered to the teenagers from various schools in the county in 2 different sessions at the Seven Oaks hotel

They heard from Gardai and representatives of the local authorities about road safety and the high number of deaths – in particular young peoples deaths on the roads already this year.

Part-time Road Safety Officer with the council John McDarby said they are exactly the age group that the message needs to be delivered to.
