Carlow’s Fire Service called to more than 40 incidents since the start of the year

Carlow’s Fire Service have been called to more than 40 incidents since the start of this year.

Figures up to the 31st of May show that the majority of their calls – 29 – were for fires. While there were six callouts for collisions.

One of their members was also injured while attending a collision in Tullow, receiving an injury to his back.

Meanwhile, work is progressing well on their new training facilities at the centre in Hacketstown.

All the block work and concrete flooring has been built and they say they’re on target for an August finish.

There are currently 46 retained fire fighters in Carlow.
