Castlecomer stab victim now stable in hospital

The condition of a young man stabbed in Castlecomer last weekend is said to have stabilised.

Jamie Hennessy was taken to St Lukes hospital in a critical condition following the incident on Saturday evening in Love Lane.

He has since been transferred to Dublin and now his family have indicated through social media that the 22 year old is responsive following an operation this week.

They’ve thanked everyone for the good wishes and support.

Meanwhile there’s been no update in the Garda investigation since 3 men arrested following the stabbing were released without charge on Monday.
