Certain swimming hotspots in Carlow are without lifeguards this weekend

Those thinking of swimming in Carlow as a result of the good weather are being urged to be cautious.

Lifeguards will be put on various swimming hotspots towards the end of this month but will not be in place this weekend.

People are being urged to use outdoor swimming pools such as the one in Bagenalstown.

Mary Foster of Carlow Water Safety says that rookie mistakes continue to be made.
