A review of speed limits in Carlow were carried out last year – following instructions from the Department of Transport.
It’s the second such review in the county, following one in March 2012 too.
A number of changes have been proposed only for national roads through the county.
Some of the changes include the 60 km/hr zone starting at Devoy’s Garage in Carlow, and extending passed the walls forge roundabout.
In Ballon, a 60 km/hr zone starts where the 80km/hr zone ends and extends past maple lawns.
There’s some change in Tullow too, the 60km/hr section starts opposite the ESB sub station, and extends to within 85 meters of the access road to Pairc Mhuire.
Meanwhile, a number of minor amendments in the location of the 120 km/hr signs are introduced to bring consistency to the ramps at the Powerstown interchange.
