Councillors will meet this week to decide on a home for a monument dedicated to Kilkenny hurling.
A sculpture has been 3 years in the making with Clare man Barry Wrafter working on it.
The 20 foot statue celebrating the county’s hurling prowess features 3 hurlers, in black and amber, with hurls and helmets, reaching for a sliotar.
Where it will be located remains to be seen, but Mayor Joe Malone who is chairman of the monument steering committee says its a very impressive piece.
He expects it will be installed later this year.
