Covert cameras used to tackle illegal dumping in Carlow

Covert cameras were instrumental in a successful conviction for illegal dumping in Carlow this week.
That’s according to one of the county’s Environmental Patrol Officers.
James Lakes says they were made aware of an area in Carlow that was being repeatedly targeted by people dumping rubbish so cameras were set up to try and catch them.
Speaking to KCLR, James says one person was brought before the court on Thursday of this week and fined a substantial amount of money.
