Current and former soldiers celebrated at Kilkenny city army base

Past and current troops are being celebrated today at the local James Stephens Army Barracks.

Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council Joe Malone, himself a former soldier, hosted a Civic Reception at the city base and told KCLR News’ Martin Quilty why;

Brigadier General Stephen Ryan, who’d served some time at the local base, was presented with a framed scroll and addressed those gathered;
