The IFA would be “silly” to head into next year’s General election without a President to fight for them.
That’s according to chairman of the Carlow branch, Derek Deane who says that while he is looking for the Carlow nomination, he won’t decide on running until the date is set.
Nominations for the role of President must be in by January the 6th with the view to having the election before the end of the month.
Speaking on KCLR’s Farm Show last night, Mr Deane says talk of postponing it would be ill-advised.
