Electric Picnic attendees are due to depart the County Laois site this morning, homeward bound.
The Stradbally based festival saw 80,000 turn out across its three days and though some left early due to the rain, most remained last night.
Wood chip has been spread throughout the car parks there ahead of the great departure which will see those from Carlow and Kilkenny largely take the N80 out.
Festival organiser Melvin Benn says they are working to be out on schedule and have help on hand for those who might find their vehicles stuck in water logged fields, noting; “Obviously there’s no shortage of farmers and tractors that are willing to help and we’ve got additional farmers and tractors that are coming in to pull people out etc I would say we’ll be out by two or three o’clock int he afternoon in the same way we’re always out about about two or three o’clock in the afternoon”.
