A town in county Carlow is preparing to be “all shook up” this weekend.
The Elvis Roots Festival takes place in Hacketstown starting on Friday and running until Sunday evening.
This is the fourth festival celebrating Elvis since historian Michael Purcell discovered Elvis Presley’s ancestor, William Presley, left the town in 1775.
Committee member Mary Doyle says the Presley family hasn’t taken up their invite to come over yet, however they have acknowledged the family connection.
