Empty council houses across Carlow and Kilkenny being refurbished to house tenants

Over 1.2 million in funding’s been granted to refurbishing empty council houses across Carlow and Kilkenny.

Carlow’s getting 651- thousand euro to revamp 45 homes, while 585-thousand euro is going to Kilkenny to cover 39 houses.

The local authority homes will be re-let this year as part of the Government’s Void Programme.

Local Fianna Fáil TD Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says this scheme is desperately needed;  We are hoping these houses will be refurbished within the next few months and they’ll be ready to be lived in. These 45 homes are so important and so badly needed.”
