Evergreen manager Gary Maher believes the Kilkenny side’s run of big away wins has helped create a strong bond within the squad ahead of Sunday’s FAI Junior Cup semi-final.
Evergreen have already overcome Colga in Galway and Pike Rovers in Limerick on the road in their last two rounds, setting up a semi-final trip to Castlebar Celtic.
Maher says those away days have been hugely important for morale and togetherness within the group.
“There has been a lot of away days. They are fantastic days, and they are a fantastic way of building morale in the group and togetherness. When you get the win, it just creates a spirit and a bond that can be unbreakable at times.”
Evergreen will be hoping that spirit can carry them one step closer to the FAI Junior Cup final.
Sunday’s semi-final in Castlebar kicks off at 1pm and will be live and in full, free on KCLR Plus, thanks to Laharts Garage, Waterford Road.
