Round 1 of the Carlow Hurling Championships got underway this weekend.
Yesterday in the Seniors, it took a Ross Smithers point from play in the dying seconds to give Naomh Eoin a one point win over Erin’s Own, It finished Naomh Eoin 1-15, Erin’s Own 1-14
In the second game Mt. Leinster Rngs edged past reigning co. champions St. Mullins by four points, a Paul Coady goal for Rngs eight and a half minutes in to the last period was the real difference between the sides.
The final score, Mt. Leinster Rngs 1-17 St. Mullins 0-16.
On Saturday, Ballinkillen and Naomh Bríd drew in the seniors, while in the Intermediates St Mullins beat Erin’s Own.
