Formal approval from Garda HQ now the last step in getting CCTV for Carlow Town Park

A Carlow Councillor says they’re just awaiting formal approval now from Garda HQ for CCTV in Carlow’s Town Park.

However, Fintan Phelan says he understands that step is just a formality.

Councillors have now been informed that Gardaí are in the process of pricing-up the cameras with security companies.

Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Phelan says a provisional figure of about €40,000 was approved by the council a number of months ago.
