Efforts to install a permanent memorial for those from Kilkenny who fought and died in the Great War have taken a step in the right direction.
The council have unanimaously approved 20 thousand euro towards the project.
Members of the Kilkenny Great War Memorial Committee say they are happy it seems to be finally on the right road.
