Carlow is preparing to say its final goodbyes today to 2 of the young women who died in a tragic road crash in Athy on Tuesday night.
20 year old Chermaine Carroll, 19 year olds Niamh Doyle and Gemma Nolan from Carlow and Aisling Middleton, also 19 and from Athy lost their lives when the car they were travelling in collided with a van just outside Athy.
Chermaine Carroll’s funeral mass takes place today at 11 o clock in St Marys church in Bennekerry with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery while Gemma Nolans mass is at 2 o clock in Askea Church following by burial in St Marys Cemetery.
Niamh Doyles funeral will take place in Askea on tomorrow morning while Ashling Middleton, will be buried in Naas tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile a book of condolence opened in Carlow county council offices yesterday to allow people to express their sympathies.
