Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach student wins Texaco Children’s Art Competition

A Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach student has won the overall prize for the Texaco Children’s Art Competition.

17 year old Lucy Deegan from County Laois picks up a cheque for €1,500 and a trip to Tokyo to display her work at the International Foundation for Arts and Culture.

Her winning piece called Tom – Summer, is a pencil drawing of her younger brother during a family holiday at the seaside.

Lucy got her first special merit in the competition when she was just four years old.
