Gardaí appeal for witnesses after a serious incident on Upper John Street in Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses after a serious incident on Upper John Street in the city in the early hours of this morning.

4 or 5 people were involved in an altercation, which took place at around 3:40am.

A slash hook was produced, but was later recovered at the scene, and no serious injuries occurred.

Gardaí are anxious to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, and witnesses are asked to contact them on 056-7775000.

Speaking to KCLR news, local Garda Andy Neill says they’d particularly like to speak to anyone who may have ‘dash-cam’ footage of the incident.
