Gardaí are appealing for information following a serious assault that occurred in the Callan area.
The incident in question happened on the 13th of March between 1.30 and 3.30 in the day in the Skeaugh area of Callan.
Gardaí believe that the incident may be related to another incident that occurred earlier on the same day at Bridge Street.
Sgt. John Duffy encouraged anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward, noting that the incident had already received widespread social media coverage.
Speaking with KCLR News, Sgt. Duffy said that “there is quite a bit of social media out there on this one, and videos that people may have seen on it, we’re looing for any information that people may have, particularly anyone that may have any kind of video footage, if they could forward it to us, that would be very helpful.”
Continuing, he said that “we understand that with something like this, people may be a little reluctant, and a little hesitant to come forward for fear reasons, but any information we get will be treated with the strictest of confidence.”
Gardaí are encouraging people with information to contact Callan Garda Station at (056) 770 6630.
