A former pub and eatery’s been targeted by vandals.
The Fox and Goose on the Carlow Kilkenny Road in Clara was broken into on Monday night (2nd Sept).
The culprit kicked open the front door and gained access but its not believed that any items were stolen.
The pub has been in disrepair for a number of years now.
Back in 2020 a community group formed named the Fox and Goose Community Shop and Tearooms group which aimed to investigate whether the building, or the site in general, could be revitalised to meet the needs of the surrounding locals.
The Kilkenny Leader Programme had granted the group €21,918.60 for that exact purpose.
An analysis and survey was to be conducted of the Fox and Goose premises and parking lot to determine whether the building was suitable for use as a resource centre, shop, or tea rooms.
