Gardaí in Bagenalstown are appealing for any information as they investigate allegations of a sexual assault at the weekend.
A young girl was taken to the sexual assault unit in Waterford following the incident that happened in Fr Cummins park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Sergeant Peter McConnan says its a sensitive matter but they are anxious to hear from anyone who was in the area.
He says Gardaí wish to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything in the Fr Cummins Park area around 1am on Sunday morning.
