Kilkenny and Carlow Gardai have launched an operation to target burglaries happening in the two counties.
Its part of operation Thor and started yesterday afternoon, and includes checkpoints and searches.
Dedicated teams are working to try and thwart criminals going to or coming from the counties.
It’s in response to a rise in crime locally as people head away on their holidays.
Gardai are appealing for the public’s support through text alert systems and to report suspicious activity to them.
