A local woman’s life was saved over the weekend thanks to the quick response of two Carlow town Gardaí.
At 2:30am Sunday morning, they responded to a report of a woman unconscious in Hadden’s Carpark, close to the fountain.
It’s understood she’d taken ill.
Superintendent Anthony Farrell was quick to praise the two Gardaí who were later aided by other emergency services personnel – he’s been outlining what happened for KCLR News;
The incident happened just a day after two Gardaí assisted a woman in the River Barrow in Athy, Co Kildare.
Garda Brendan Murphy, who’s understood to be from county Carlow with Garda Colman Curran managed to get her out of the water and to safety until paramedics arrived to bring her to hospital.
