The driver of a car who died in a crash on Monday has been named locally.
John Dollard (70) who is from Kilmacow was the driver of the car when it crashed on the R448 near Smithstown in Mullinavat at around 9.30am.
The road was closed for a time for a technical examination to be carried out and the local coronorer has been notifed.
His Body was transfered to University Hospital Waterford where a postmortem will be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, in particular those who might have dashcam footage to contact them on 051-305300.
