High number of empty business units in Carlow is being tackled says Council Chairman

The Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council says they are working to fill empty shops and businesses.

It’s emerged that Carlow has a worse than average vacancy rate for commercial premises with 380 lying unsed at the end of last year.

Labour’s Des Hurley is the Chairman of the County Council.

He says the figures aren’t good but measures have already been put in place to address this issue.
