A Carlow mother has spent the night in a tent outside council buildings in Carlow town.
Karen Middleton and her young son who are homeless had been in emergency accommodation.
Gardai were called to the offices yesterday evening when she refused to leave the county council offices.
and Karen was arrested for trespassing.
She spent last night in a tent with some supporters while her young son was being looked after elsewhere.
Speaking to KCLR news from her tent this morning she said she had been told the emergency accommodation was long-term but officials told her yesterday it was being stopped without giving her a reason.
She says she will return there today to try to meet with someone but will have to continue to sleep out in the tent otherwise as she has ‘no-where else to go’.
