Road reopened after major oil spill in North Kilkenny

A road in north Kilkenny reopened on ednesday afternoon after an oil spill earlier.

The hydraulic oil – which is more difficult to remove – was spilled on the Gathabawn Road between Johnstown and Cullohill.

The stretch from Begger’s Cross to the junction on the Rock Road was shut for more than five hours while the local fire services dealt with the issue.
