Infection control measures in place to tackle Superbug in St Lukes
The HSE has confirmed that there’s been a small outbreak of a Superbug in St Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny.
KCLR news understands that 4 inpatients there have tested positive for CRE – a family of germs that are difficult to treat because they have high levels of resistance to antibiotics.
It was reported on January 26th and full infection control precautions were put in place.
Infection control staff are said to be working with the relevant ward staff in relation to all precautions.
