A new initiative aimed at getting students home safely has been rolled out in Carlow.
DASH was officially launched this week in Carlow, Cork and also in Galway – where the idea was developed.
Students can sign up for free on the ‘project dash’ website and if they find themselves out with no money for a taxi home they will still be able to call one of the taxis registered with the DashCabz app.
It’s all the brainchild of NUIG student Richie Commins and he told KCLR News they’re hoping to roll it out nationwide.
Carlow Cabs is the only local taxi company signed up at the moment.
