Investigation works are to start tonight on the bridge in Tullow.
Over the next six or seven nights they’ll be finding out whether or not it would be possible to attach pedestrian bridges to either side of the existing infrastructure.
There have been a number of near misses on that bridge before – especially with parents pushing buggies.
These works will involve closing one lane of the N81 at a time with a temporary shuttle traffic management system in place.
They’ll be taking place by night from 10pm to 6am until next Monday.
