Irish Rugby player gifts one of Kilkenny hurling’s biggest fans his Six Nations medal

One of Kilkenny hurling’s biggest supporters can now add a coveted Six Nations medal to her collection.
Young Jennifer Malone first made headlines after she was spotted in her Kilkenny colours consoling Waterford’s Pauric Mahony when the Déise were defeated by the Cats in the 2016 All-Ireland Semi-Final.
She was later given an award by the GAA for Moment of the Championship for her kind act there.
Jennifer attended yesterday’s Grand Slam-winning rugby game between Ireland and England, and after the victory Munster flanker Peter O’Mahony presented the super-fan with his own Six Nations medal.
Her mother, Donna, has told KCLR News she’s absolutely over the moon.
She says the medal was originally given to Jennifer on loan.
However, when she went to give it back to Peter the next day, he told her she could keep it.
Even though Jennifer’s a Leinster girl, Donna says she’s a huge fan of Peter because she “doesn’t see any difference in a jersey colour. If they’re her friends, it doesn’t matter who they play for.”
