The County Council’s in Kilkenny and Carlow are being praised for the way they manage Public Rights of Way locally.
A new report from the Office of the Planning Regulator has examined how the issue is managed in every county in the country.
It’s highlighted the two local authorities as examples that other counties can follow to improve their own performance.
Planning Regulator Niall Cussen says there’s a strong tradition locally of protecting public access to amenities. ”Carlow and Kilkenny deal with this very well. There’s a very long tradition of various walking routes and the they are very well managed.”
