The World Premiere debut of a short film ‘Póg Mo Pigeon’ was debuted at Galway Film Fleadh recetly for Kilkenny based Lighthouse Studios
The animation studio ran a development project in 2021 where anybody that had an idea could come forward and pitch their idea
Póg Mo Pigeon is Set in West Cork during the 1970s, the two-dimensional work narrates the tale of Mikey, a young child who flees into the forest to avoid Mammy’s Sacred Heart icon’s watchful eyes.
Polly Holland, Animator at Lighthouse wrote the script and came up with the initial concept for the film
She joined Claire Finn, MD at Lighthouse Studios and Exec Producer and Clíodhna Lyons, Director at Lighthouse and of Póg mo Pigeon on The KCLR Daily
