Kilkenny communities urged to come along to Tourism ‘think tank’ later

Communities around Kilkenny are being encouraged to reap the full benefits of national tourism strategies.

A community tourism think tank is taking place locally this evening with guest speakers including Justine Carey, programme manager of Ireland’s Ancient East.

Former Kerry footballer, and now brand ambassador of the Action Plan for Rural Ireland, Pat Spillane will also be there.

Declan Rice of Kilkenny LEADER Partnership told KCLR News the event is to help smaller towns and villages reach their full tourism potential.

They’re saying to communities ‘here’s your chance to understand what you need to do to be part of Ireland’s Ancient East, for example. What does it mean, what’s it all about, what are the goals, what do you have in your area?”
