A local councillor says Kilkenny County Council must take note of the level of public anger over their actions in removing four mature trees from Pearse Park last week.
The local authority intially said they were removed due to storm damage but on Friday they clarified that they were removed to facilitate the construction of a new bridge as part of the Central Access Scheme.
But Cllr Malcom Noonan says the trees should not have been removed.
