A motion will be put before Monday’s meeting of Kilkenny County Council about the placing of speed vans.
Local Councillors have come together to put the idea forward – as they think local knowledge should be used when it comes to the placing of speed vans in order to save more lives.
They’re calling on the council to get a number of mobile speed monitoring or indication signs that can be placed on different sections of the roads where speeding is a concern.
Slieverue Councillor Ger Frisby says the communication needs to be better between the local council and government bodies.
